We’re aware that some people couldn’t make it to the memorial service in Liverpool. We set up this online book of celebration to give anyone a chance to share their memories of Colin and his music, along with any messages for the family.

I am sorry I cannot be in Liverpool to pay my own respects in person but I want to pass on my sincere condolences to Colin's family, friends and loved ones.
Colin's music will live long in the hearts of so many people that it will never be forgotten. I know this is a celebration of his life and work so I will say, "Thank you Sir, you will be sadly missed" You will never walk alone.

It's been a true honour to grow up listening to Colin's music. Wonderful life is my favourite song and will always be a part of me and my children.

Colin's music never left out lives, not then and not now. It certainly never left mine. To say that he was a decent songwriter, would be an understatement. He really had an identity all his own as an artist, never afraid to sing exactly about what mattered to him. A beautiful man, inside and out. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but his message spread far and wide. I was and am moved by his work and his personality. Be well Colin, I know you are in a good place.

I fell in love with Colin's music and beautiful voice many years ago and have returned, time and time again to those all familiar melodies and lyrics. Comforting in times of sadness, like wrapping your senses in chocolate and lighthearted fun during the good times. Colin, you kept me company on many a long motorway journey, we both sang our socks off, admittedly, your performance was more polished than mine but I had the added pressure of other drivers giving me odd looks.
I kick myself frequently that I never saw you play live and now that chance has gone. Only last year I asked a local music festival to book you for this year, I guess I will never know if they ever got in contact with you. I hope they did, though.
I wish I could be there for the memorial service. I expect you'd wonder what all the fuss was about. Then, probably, you'd write a song about it.... tongue firmly in cheek!
