Issued as souvenirs for the 2003 and 2004 tours, the two Blackleg albums caught live performances as Colin toured ‘Smoke up close’. The albums introduced new arrangements of ‘Here it comes again’ and ‘Listen’ and brought us Colin singing ‘Water on Snow’ from the opening lines for the first time on record. The CDs included popular tracks from ‘Smoke up close’ together with songs from the previous Black and Colin Vearncombe albums.
Colin said: “A man I admire wrote ‘music is the out breath, everything else is breathing in’. Here is the unsanitised out breath of a year’s performance.”
These albums, issued on Colin’s own Nero Schwarz album and sold exclusively at the shows, are no longer available.
